2023 ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting will be held at 1701 E. Melrose Ave. Findlay, OH.

Every member of the credit union who is at least 18 years of age is eligible and encouraged to vote in the board of directors’ election.
The election will open March 21, 2023, and will close on April 20, 2023.
There will not be any nominations from the floor at the Annual Meeting. Nominees by petition are required to submit to the President / CEO a statement of qualifications and biographical data with a petition signed by 100 members before March 16, 2023.
There are three seats up for election in 2023. Board members will be elected to a term of three years. Election results will be shared at the Annual Meeting. The nominating committee of HFCU has nominated the three individuals below to appear on the election ballot.

BOARD OF DIRECTOR CANDIDATES
Mike Scoles
Mike is the currently the Interim Assistant Superintendent for Findlay City Schools. He holds a Doctor of Education in Policy & Leadership Studies from BGSU, a Master of Science in School Counseling from the University of Dayton, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Findlay and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Findlay. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Bluffton University and Winebrenner Theological Seminary.
Mike has served on the board for the Family Resource Center of NW Ohio and Findlay Youth Theatre. He has also participated in many committees including the Findlay City Schools Homework Policy & Technology Committee, Winebrenner Institutional Research Review Board Committee, Findlay City Schools District Leadership Team, Academic Program Chairs Council and UF Teacher Education Advisory Council.
Mike wants to volunteer as a board member because he believes in the vision and the mission of credit unions, and he wants to become a financial steward for others as a leader in the community. He was encouraged to open an account with HFCU as a young teacher and it was a great lesson in financial responsibility.
Rich Steiner
Rich Steiner is seeking his 4th term as a member of HFCU’s Board of Directors, last serving in 2018. He currently volunteers on HFCU’s Supervisory Committee. He has been a member of the credit union for over 60 years.
Rich graduated from Findlay High School, attained his Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Toledo and Master’s in Education Administration from Bowling Green State University. He served in many roles during his 45 year career in education including teaching mathmatics, serving as principal, superintendent and assistant director of a career center. Rich is now retired and enjoying spending more time with his family.
His parents began teaching him about money at an early age and as he grew up he always felt the credit union served his needs with each new phase of life.
Jack Volkmer
Jack Volkmer is seeking his 6th term as a member of HFCU's Board of Directors and has been a member of the credit union for over 30 years. He currently serves on the Board's Personnel Committee.
Jack is a graduate of Ohio University with a BS in Mathematics and a graduate of Toledo University with a MED degree in Mathematics Education. Jack is retired from Findlay City Schools where he served as a Mathematics teacher at Central Junior High, Assistant Principal at Donnell Junior High and Business Manager.
His past community involvement included serving as a Findlay City Councilperson and a member of the Findlay Civil Service Commission.
